Stuff In Mi Casa... OUR Casa

We got some furniture in but not our bods. We will HOPEFULLY be moving in this weekend. I only say HOPEFULLY because we've said that we'd be moving in the past TWO weekends and I don't want to get my hopes up. It's been one project after the next but we're almost there. The furniture is in, and that's about it. WOO!

Kitchen - the vases up top are all from our wedding which I love. Fun to incorporate things that have meaning.

The KNOBS are my fav - we scowered anthro for those pups

Living room - not sure what to do with this yet...

Family room - stuff isn't hung up yet and we're not sure what to do with all the stuff in there but at least it's in!

Skills

They always said Bball was an athlete and I believed them, especially after this:

you. Go. BOY!

Update... ish...

Alright, not the best update in the world because let's face it, the pics kinda stink -- however, my girl Tiny updated her blog and I told her I would follow suit. Here are some oldie pics of the Casa De AHLSTROM... all taken from an iphone so coloring is a bit crazy town... ALRIGHT, enough prefacing... check it!

Tile/Carpet combo! Apparently this carpet is just SO to-die-for that it's on back order for TWO weeks. Doubtful, but a great excuse from our provider -- nothing but the best!

KITCHEN!!! Ok, I promise the colors are more WARM and COZY in real life. This is where Bball and I will reheat all our leftovers!! My favorite room is in the left corner of this pic -- our beautiful living room!

TILE!!!! LOVE this stuff -- Bball is liking it more and more, might be a bit too yellow for his taste. But I'm in love with it, so pretty, and I love the brick layout.

SURPRISE!!! Bball did the bathrooms all by himself. No, not the work, the decision making. Although I could totally picture him with his shirt off sweating it out as he demolishes the tile, lays down the concrete, smooths the edges... wait, what?

Oh the dreaded chairs. Note to self: Painting black to white REQUIRES PRIMER, or else you will spend 6 hours on ONE chair. Awesome.

.:LoveHim:.

Random post.

Maybe I'm tired. Maybe I feel bad for being grumpy yesterday. Maybe I just realized how freakin' lucky I am. You decide.

All I know is I love my husband. I love him more than anything. I have loved him for so long now and sometimes it's hard to believe that he's REALLY mine. I wish I remembered that more frequently. There were nights spent away from each other in years past where I would lay in bed and dream that he was next to me. I adore that man. I wanted SO badly to be with him and to make our relationship REAL. Now that it is, I hope to always remember how hard we both worked to make it happen, to make our lives right, and to get ourselves in a place where we could be together forever. It was hard, but every day I realize it was beyond worth it.

I love how kind he is, how absolutely hilarious he is, how fun he is, but most of all how he makes me feel in moments like this: alive and blessed.

Ok. Stepping off the sappy-soap-box... But I just LOVE HIM!

Literally sweeps me off my feet... on a daily basis.

Project Revamp-a-licious

We are getting SO close to moving into our NEW little casa! Bball and I have been waiting on this home for a while now... it was a short sale and we first put an offer back in January. Short sales basically suck, but we waited it out -- sorry Amy and PapaMurph! -- and just a few weeks ago found out it was ours!! Now, it's time to make this house OUR home. That means repainting, re-tiling and re-carpeting. We went over today, Day 1 of the revamp, and here's how it looks:

This is our living room looking into our kitchen/family room. The den/Bball's new office is off to the right. The front door is in the right corner as well. Looks so nakie right now, SO fun! Ps. Don't you just LOVE the paint?! Yikes, too bad you weren't able to see the beautiful holy crosses hung on ever corner to go along with it. The living room will be painted white with a red accent wall, the kitchen/living room will be a tuscan yellow with the same red accent wall. We're thinking light white/gold tiles and possibly a sage green carpet... lots of colors! Thoughts?!

View looking down from the front door.

Our fireplace. We're wanting to put bright small tiles around the fire place... any ideas on where to find some? Amasita was thinking I could even make my own? We're thinking a bright blue or something to match the red accent wall. We're going for a bright, cozy mediterranean look.
THE INSPIRATION! We've been working with one of Amy's friends who has been translating our thoughts and ideas into reality. No easy task... But I LOVE what he's coming up with. GO TEAM! Rad fabric, huh? We have this cute little window seat and I want to cover the cushions with it. Oh PS. I feel freakin' oldilocks talking about 'cushions I plan to cover...' blah blah blah. OLD!... but kind of fun. ;)

Freaky In Fiji

It's about time we updated this blog with one of the best weeks of our lives. Honestly, I thought the wedding was unreal, but the SURPRISE honeymoon rocked my world. Best way to put it is to show you through pictures... and there's a lot of them.
First night we stayed at the Andaz in downtown San Diego. At this point I was already so blown away by how rad this hotel was -- sparing you the 'honeymoon' details, lets just say the room was above par. The hotel had a rooftop pool, yummy food, and was in the center of downtown. All of this equals Bball and EJ happiness. BUT that morning I received a text message from my homegirl, Tina Tiddy, implying the happiness was just beginning... because I was going to FIJI!!! (Yes, Tina ruined the surprise. Yes, Bball was sad. Yes, I was stoked.)

Our unbelievable room!!! Exquisite bed, exquisite bed! <-- recognize the movie reference?! The favorite phrase on the islands of FIJI is BULA!! Meaning welcome, hello, and you're a babe. So they say.

Honestly we were in shock. To me this entire honeymoon was a surprise. To Brad it was just as exciting because he had seen the pictures but being there was just breathtaking. We were on the island of Maololo at the Liku Liku Lagoon resort. Our room sat on the sand with the ocean as our backyard... perfect!

Our backyard... Brad leaning over our plunge pool. WOW!
Meals were served three times a day in their main hut. The food was 5-star all the way. We tried some of the most random and exotic things -- coconut milk, woof.

Our backyard beach. Gosh I was so in love.

THE AHLSTROMS!!! In their element.

It's a honeymoon, expect lots of this ok?!

Maybe one of the greatest days -- the staff dropped off this handmade basket of treats for the week. Diet Coke, chips, and a hot man feeding them to you by hand.

Our daybed!! This was also in our backyard. Unreal sunsets and sunrises from this bed overlooking the ocean.

Another backyard shot -- Bball and I doing some free advertising for Liku Liku with their top-notch sarongs.

DINNER!!!! Dinner was always at least a four-course meal. So delish.

Lunch --- again, yum. Every lunch began with a cleanser -- it was a small
little shot of blended fruits. So refreshing. They would then give you a
menu of 3 or 4 main courses, different each day, and you'd choose
an appetizer and dessert to go along with it. Threw my wedding diet out the door,
thank you very much!

THE POOL!!!!! Loved laying here and giggling over how ridiculous this vacation was. I mean look at that?! A disappearing edge straight into the Pacific Ocean!

Heaven in a glass. Pina Coladas by the pool -- wowowow!

When you get off the little tugboat and onto the island, this is the first thing you see -- the hotel lobby.

Yeah, we went fishing. Bball was the first one to catch something, go boy!

We went on a hike one day and found a completely secluded beach on the other side of Maololo. We had the entire shore to ourselves -- nothing for miles and miles. Talk about romantic!

On our beach

Yeah the shoreline is great, but so is my husband's six pack! WOO!

Fisherman...!

The only dock.

My man the wakeboarder! Brad wakeboarded in the middle of the ocean. Considering our island is so small and SO quiet, his wakeboarding woke everyone up. He had admirers the ENTIRE trip -- you would not believe the celebrity he turned into after launching himself over the wake and showing off for all the honeymooners. GO BOY!

Love him!

This was by far the most perfect trip of our lives. We would catch ourselves at least two or three times a day just laughing and shaking our heads, both of us thinking 'is this really happening?' I've never been so happy, so at ease, so carefree in my life. It was the most perfect honeymoon with the most perfect man. We loved every lazy, sun-soaking minute of it. Liku Liku for Life!

Best. Day. Ever.

Seriously. I know every bride says it, but our wedding day rocked my world.
Perfect weather.
Perfect guests.
Hot groom.
=
Wedded bliss.

To everyone thinking about getting married in the temple -- wondering if it's worth all the hype, worth staying on the right track for -- from two people who had to work hard to get there, IT'S WORTH IT.
The most remarkable feeling in the world being sealed to each other in front of family, friends, and God.
That's where the bliss comes from. The temple.

Aside from being an incredibly spiritual experience, it was an absolute party which is just what Bball and I wanted. The reception was beautiful and we danced the entire night.

As for AFTER the reception... keep an eye out for the next post... ;)

WE freakin' DID IT!
